Omaha Lancers News Release

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that forward Matt Tabrum has committed to the University of Denver and will join the Pioneers in the Fall of 2011. A second-year forward from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tabrum has recorded 10 goals, two assists and 12 points in 30 games this season. At the season's midway point, Tabrum has recorded just 16 penalty minutes while posting three power play goals, two game-winning markers and 62 shots on goal. He was acquired by Omaha on January 3rd in a trade with Sioux Falls that sent forwards Tom O'Regan and Mitch Hughes to the Stampede. Tabrum has yet to register a point in six games with the Lancers.

The Colorado Springs native saw limited action last season during his rookie campaign in the USHL after an injury limited him to just two games and zero points in Sioux Falls a season ago. Tabrum was originally selected 97th overall (Round 8) by the Stampede in the 2009 USHL Entry Draft.

Omaha (17-10-4, 38 Pts.) returns to action this Wednesday evening when the Lancers return home to the Omaha Civic Auditorium to take on the Fargo Force. Doors to the Civic Auditorium will open at 6 PM Wednesday with the puck drop scheduled for 7:05 PM in the first of three Western Conference showdowns in the week for the Lancers.

Omaha Lancers tickets can be purchased at the Qwest Center Box Office Monday - Friday 10 AM - 6 PM, at the Omaha Civic Auditorium Box Office on game days only beginning at 10 AM and through Ticketmaster or www.ticketmaster.com.
