Williams Named USHL Goaltender of the Week for Second Straight Time

Sioux Falls, SD-For the second week in a row, Stampede netminder Stephon Williams has been named the Reebok Goaltender of the Week in the USHL. He took home the same honors last week.

In just his first season in the league, Williams continues to shine between the pipes, playing a large part in the Herd's recent seven-game winning streak. Last week he stopped 49 of 51 shots in wins over Fargo and Tri-City. He is 6-0-0 with a 1.32 GAA and a .935 save percentage over his last six starts.

The Fairbanks, Alaska native stopped 24 of 25 shots last Monday in a 3-1 win at Fargo and followed that performance up with 25 saves in a 3-1 win versus Tri-City on Wednesday.

Williams is now 13-3-4 with a 2.29 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 22 games this season. He ranks seventh in the league in goals-against and fifth in the league in wins.

Williams was listed #32 amongst North American goaltenders by NHL Central Scouting in their Mid-Term Rankings. The rankings are based on eligible players for the 2011 NHL draft.
