Omaha Lancers News Release

Ralston, NE -- The Omaha Lancers faced the Fargo Force Saturday at Ralston Arena. This is the first meeting between the two squads this season.

After a scoreless first period, Fargo opened up the scoring in the second period. Garrett Van Wyhe snapped the puck past Zach Driscoll with 11:33 left to play. Omaha answered back quickly as Logan Will broke past the defense to find the five-hole of Ryan Bischel to even the game. Saturday was Will's first game as a Lancer and first game back since pre-season play. Later in the period, Ryan Savage took a pass from Ben Meyers and scored off a one-time shot to take the lead again for Fargo. Omaha answered back once again when Tyler Carpenter took a stretch pass from Michael Mannara to get the Lancers and Force tied up 2-2.

Twenty seconds into the third period, Fargo got out on top with a goal from Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup. Schmidt-Svejstrup did not let up as he tallied his second of the night with 4:06 left to play. With 1:08 left to play, Garrett Van Wyhe got his second goal of the night on an empty net. The Lancers fell to Fargo, 5-1.

The Lancers return to the ice tomorrow to face the Fargo Force. That game starts at 5:05 pm and can be heard on News Talk 1290, and Hockey TV. Tickets are still available and can be picked up at the Ralston Arena box office.
