
Lancers Defeat Stars, 4-2

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers defeated the Lincoln Stars by a final score of 4-2 on Saturday night.
In the opening frame, and on the power play, Zach Dubinsky (5:21) ripped the puck from the right circle to score on Ryan Ouellette for a 1-0 lead. Ryan Lautenbach and Noah Carlin were called on the assists. The Stars would end up evening the game 1-1 when Jake Beaunue (15:28) scored his fourth of the season beating Reilly Herbst.
In the middle period, the Stars took their first lead of the night when Clay Hanus (15:30) skated down the right-wing wall then cut across the slot to score a band hand goal on Herbst. Lincoln kept the 2-1 lead going into the second intermission.
In the final period, Zach Dubinsky (9:53) netted his second power-play goal of the night driving the puck in front of Ouellette then scoring off the backhand evening the game 2-2. The Lancers continued on the attack when Nolan Renwick (18:11) scored his eleventh goal of the year sniping the puck from the right side wing to get the Lancers ahead 3-2. The Stars pulled Ouelette for an extra attacker, but Cam Mitchell (19:06) snapped the puck from the red line into the empty net for a final score of 4-2. Herbst earned his first win as a Lancer in the contest stopping 20 of the 22 shots he faced.
The Lancers are now 17-14 on the year with 36 points and have moved to second place in the USHL Western Conference.
Omaha hits the road to face off against the Waterloo Black Hawks on Sunday, February 21st at Young Arena. The opening puck drop is set for 3:05 PM. All of the action is on MixLR and HockeyTV.
