
Lancers Defeat Buccaneers, 5-3

URBANDALE, IA - The Omaha Lancers defeated the Des Moines Buccaneers in the final meetup between the two teams of the regular season by a final score of 5-3.
The Lancers got out in front of the Buccaneers on their first power-play of the game with Luke Mobley (16:02) snipping the puck past Rowe from the right circle. The Buccaneers answered back to even the game at 17:43 with a goal from Mason Nevers. The game stayed tied up 1-1 into the first intermission.
Luke Mobley netted his second goal of the night at 5:15 in the second period. The offensive attack continued for the Lancers when Cole Kodsi (12:22) netted his ninth goal of the year getting the Lancers ahead 3-1.
In the third period, the Buccaneers got back their second goal of the night from Matt Choupani (4:40) getting the score 3-2. The Lancers increased their lead minutes later when Ryan Lautenbach (6:11) netted a highlight-reel backhand goal on Rowe. The Buccaneers battled back to score another goal from Mason Nevers at 14:45 to make the score 4-3. Des Moines pulled Rowe for the extra attacker, but could not stop the Lancers as Alex Campbell netted an empty-net goal at 19:39 to get the Lancers a 5-3 win.
The Lancers are now 27-14-7-1 with 62 points and are 2nd place in the Western Conference.
The Lancers return to action tomorrow against the Fargo Force at Ralston Arena. Puck drop is at 4:05 PM. The game will be broadcasted on HockeyTV.
