Middleton, WI - Back-to-back dominant performances by Christian Stoever gave the Capitols their third straight victory over the US National Team Development Program on Saturday night in a 4-1 win.

Shane LaVelle picked an opportune time for his first career USHL goal, as he was able to slide one past USA goaltender, Drew Commesso, only 3:31 into the opening period. LaVelle was fed by Gustav Muller and Reid Pabich.

Ricky Lyle doubled the lead off an unselfish feed from Patrick Schmiedlin. Frank Dovorany led a 3-on-1 rush into the zone before dropping it for Schmiedlin to find Lyle for his 7th tally of the season.

Landon Slaggert pulled Team USA back within one with the extra attacker late in the game, but Carson Bantle showed off his speed and skill to beat Commesso for his 20th goal of the season before Ryan Kirawn slammed the door shut on an empty netter with 20 seconds left in regulation. The goal for Kirwan tied him with Alec Broetzman for most in a single season in Capitol history.

Stoever stood on his head, turning back 41 shots in the contest en route to a 3rd straight Capitols victory. Stoever turned back 88 of 90 shots on the weekend with two victories to his name.

Madison returns to action next Friday, March 13th when the team heads to Lincoln, NE to take on the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
