Lancers Capitalize in Sunday Tilt over Aces, 4-3

BLOOMINGTON, IL - The Omaha Lancers defeated the Central Illinois Flying Aces on Sunday evening by a final score of 4-3 at Grossinger Motors Arena.

The Flying Aces struck first to open up the game when Jeremy Davidson (12:09) scored his twelfth goal on the season. The Lancers tied the game up late as Jaxon Nelson (16:48) took a pass from Brendan Furry to snipe it past Ryan Snowden.

The Flying Aces took the lead again to start off the second period. Brad Marek (5:17) tipped the puck in after it went airborne and landed on the goal line behind Kucharski. In the final minute of the period, Brendan Furry (18:55) snapped the puck in past Snowden to tie the game 2-2.

Aleksi Peltonen (2:34) kicked off the scoring in the final period. Peltonen had the puck, fell to his knees but shot the it past Snowden. In the dying minutes of the period and on the games only power-play, Philippe LaPointe (18:12) scored to tie the game 3-3. Soon after, Ryan Savage (19:09) sealed the win for the Lancers netting the puck past Snowden for a final score of 4-3. Kucharski stopped 31 of the 34 Flying Aces shots he faced.

The Lancers improve to 7-13-0-2 on the season with 16 points in the USHL Western Conference.

The Lancers return to the ice on Friday, Dec. 14th vs the Muskegon Lumberjacks for a weekend series at Ralston Arena. Puck drop is at 7:35 pm. All of the action can be heard on 1290 AM and HockeyTV.
