Capitols Acquire Conroy in Exchange for LaBarge

Middleton, WI - The Madison Capitols have acquired forward Jack Conroy from the Kenai River Brown Bears in a trade announced on Thursday. In exchange, Madison has sent Trey LaBarge to Kenai River.

"We're sad to see Trey go, but we're very excited about what Jack can bring to our team," said head coach Garrett Suter. "Jack is a young man who wants to show he belongs, and he'll make sure he brings that onto the ice with him everyday."

Conroy is in his first season of playing junior hockey following a one year stint with the Chicago Fury. While with the Fury, Conroy ranked 5thin the T1EHL in goals scored with 19, adding to his 19 assists as well in only 36 games.

This season, Conroy has dressed in 21 games for the Brown Bears, picking up 3 assists to go along with his solo goal.

"I feel ecstatic," said Conroy. "I enjoyed playing for the Brown Bears, but I am looking forward to advancing my career in the USHL with Madison."

Conroy is expected to be in uniform, wearing #8, when the Capitols will return to action this weekend as they hit the road for two games. Madison will head to Waterloo on Friday night before coming back to Wisconsin for a game in Green Bay against the Gamblers on Saturday.

Madison will return home for two games next weekend for $1 beer night on Friday, December 14thand Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday, December 15th.
