Lake Erie Monsters Alumni Making Splash

Lake Erie Monsters alumni David Jones and Cody McLeod have been making their mark on the Monsters' NHL parent team, the Colorado Avalanche. Both Jones and McLeod played in all six games of the Western Conference Semifinal series against the Minnesota Wild, each averaging 10:55 and 11:14 of ice time, per game respectively.

In the series-clinching Game Six, Jones recorded the game-winning assist that put the Avs overtop of the Wild.

Seven other Monsters players have seen playing time with the Avalanche this season including: Cody McCormick, Kyle Cumiskey, Johnny Boychuk, T.J. Hensick, Tyler Weiman, Brad Richardson and Wyatt Smith.

Boychuk, Hensick, Richardson, Weiman, Chris Stewart and Jeff Jillson have been assigned to the Avalanche practice squad for the playoffs. In the event that the Avalanche have injury problems, they could be called into action.
