Worcester Sharks News Release

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced that twelve former Worcester Sharks players will continue on in their quest for the Stanley Cup, as the San Jose Sharks have advanced to the NHL's conference semifinal round after a Game 7 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Eleven Worcester alumni remain with the San Jose Sharks. The contingent is led by Joe Pavelski, who is tied for second in playoff team scoring with seven points (3g-4a). Former Worcester Shark Josh Gorges advances with the Montreal Canadiens.

Among the four Worcester Sharks players who were recalled to San Jose at the conclusion of the AHL's regular season, Devin Setoguchi is the only one to have seen action to this point. The former first round draft pick was a huge factor in the Sharks' 5-3 series-clinching win in San Jose on Tuesday, scoring the 5th goal of the hockey game, his first NHL playoff goal. Setoguchi recorded 19 points (8g-11a) in 23 games this season for the Worcester Sharks.

The San Jose Sharks will face the Dallas Stars in the NHL's conference semifinal round. San Jose will host Game 1 on Friday, April 25th at 10:00 PM.
