Lake County Fielders News Release
Zion, IL -The Lake County Fielders took their border foes to the cleaners Thursday, disposing of the Kenosha County Fielders by a score of 16 to 2. Kenosha still leads the season series, five games to three.
Leading the offensive charge yet again for Lake County yet again, was third baseman Franklin Lopez. Lopez went 3 for 5 with 6 RBI's and a run scored. Outfielder John Bishop broke out of his funk, going 2 for 2 with four runs scored before being replaced in the eighth.
Lake County starter Ryan Torrey, made his Fielders debut Thursday, going six innings while allowing one run on three hits and striking out five.
Kenosha was led offensively by lead-off hitter Paul Pulera. Pulera went 1 for 4 and was hit by a pitch. Pulera scored a run and also had an RBI single in the seventh. Kenosha starter Jason Bunton struggled on the mound in his second start of this series. Bunton only lasted two innings while allowing six runs on six hits.
The "Border Battle" series continues Friday evening at 7 pm for game 9 at Fielders Stadium in Zion, Illinois.
