April 10, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) closed out their preseason on Saturday afternoon, playing to a 3-3 draw with the New England Revolution at Banc of California Stadium. Diego Rossi, Carlos Vela and Eddie Segura all scored for the home side. LAFC opens the 2021 MLS regular season on Saturday, April 17 at Banc of California Stadium at 2:30 p.m. PT.
Despite falling behind 2-0 inside the game's opening 10 minutes, LAFC continued to pressure the New England goal and cut the lead in half in the 14th minute thanks to Rossi's second goal in as many games, making the score 2-1. The score stayed that way until the 58th minute when Vela, who assisted on Rossi's goal, raced onto a Rossi through ball and slotted a shot past the Revolution goalkeeper, tying the score at 2-2.
New England went back in front three minutes later, but LAFC were able to equalize once again in the 84th minute when Eddie Segura volleyed home from eight yards out to help his team earn a 3-3 draw.
LAFC opens the 2021 MLS regular season one week from today on Saturday, April 17 when they host the expansion Austin F.C. in their inaugural match. That game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. PT and be shown live nationally on FOX.
