Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) takes on rival Galaxy tomorrow, September 6, at 7:30 p.m. PT at Dignity Health Sports Park. The match will be broadcast live on YouTube TV, TUDN/Unimás, and on radio on the ESPN LA 710AM, ESPN App and KFWB 980 AM.
LAFC snapped a two-game losing streak in a definitive way on Wednesday night at Banc of California Stadium, exploding for five goals in a dominating 5-1 performance over the San Jose Earthquakes.
Tomorrow's contest will mark the eighth time the crosstown rivals have met in the regular season, with LAFC owning a 1-3-3 record.
The Black & Gold opened the 25th MLS season with a 1-0 win over expansion side Inter Miami CF on March 1 and a 3-3 draw against the Philadelphia Union on March 8 before the season was suspended on March 12 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the MLS is Back Tournament, LAFC was eliminated by Orlando City SC in the Quarterfinals by way of penalties, but not before picking up five regular season points in the group stage with draws against Houston Dynamo and Portland Timbers, and a 6-2 win over the Galaxy.
The Club then suffered back-to-back losses to the Galaxy and Seattle Sounders FC in the first two games of phase one, before bouncing back against San Jose earlier this week. After 8 matches, the Club currently sits third in the Western Conference a 3-2-3 record (12 points).
