
LAFC Defeats Seattle Sounders FC 4-1 on Sunday Afternoon

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) routed the previously undefeated Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday afternoon at Banc of California Stadium. With the win, the Black & Gold continue to sit atop the MLS standings with a 7-1-1 record (22 points).
Forward Carlos Vela shined for LAFC once more, scoring twice for the home team in the 12th and 55th minutes. Vela has now recorded a league-high 10 goals in nine matches to start the 2019 season. Midfielder Eduard Atuesta tallied his first of the campaign in the 39th minute, while Christian Ramirez also got on the scoresheet in the 61st to round out the 4-1 win for LAFC.
The Sounders FC looked to get back into the match via a goal from midfielder Harry Shipp six minutes after the interval, but LAFC would see out the game with two more goals in the following 10 minutes to extend its winning streak at home to five games. LAFC Midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye recorded three assists, tying the LAFC record for most assists in a single match (Diego Rossi - 3/10/18 at RSL).
LAFC will face Seattle Sounders FC again next weekend at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, April 28 (ESPN, ESPNLA 710, KFWB 980).
