LAFC and BMO Team up to Provide LA Active Sports with $15,000 Grant to Launch New Summer Futsal League in South Los Angeles

The 2022 MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and BMO have teamed up to provide a $15,000 grant to launch a summer futsal league through LA Active Sports. ‚ The grant will officially be presented in a ceremony hosted at the league's inaugural day of play on Saturday, July 15 at John Adams Middle School - located just one mile from BMO Stadium in the Heart of LA.

The grant will help launch the inaugural LA Active Sports Summer Futsal League, providing the 35 teams, made up of local students, access to updated futsal courts and equipment, as well as coaching and officiating for the four-week long summer league.

All games are being played on futsal courts that have been donated by LAFC, Kaiser Permanente, adidas, and the US Soccer Foundation including the inaugural matches of the LA Active Sports Summer Futsal League being played this Saturday at John Adams Middle School on courts refurbished by the Club and partners in 2020.

LA Active Sports is a sports organization based in Los Angeles that is dedicated to providing youth soccer leagues in several low-income communities. The organization collaborates with partners to offer free, organized, and high-quality soccer leagues to families and youth who are unable to afford to participate in the pay-to-play leagues. The mission of LA Active Sports is to foster active and healthy lifestyles among the Los Angeles community, its children, and parents through meaningful and competitive sports within their communities.
