LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy begin their 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign by playing host to Seattle Sounders FC in the Round of 32 of the competition at Dignity Health Sports Park on Wednesday, May 10 (7:30 p.m. PT; CBS Sports Golazo Network) before returning to league play to face off against the San Jose Earthquakes at Dignity Health Sports Park, in a match presented by Corazón Tequila, on Sunday, May 14 (6:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, FS1, LA Galaxy Radio, LA Galaxy Spanish Radio).

Dating back to their first U.S. Open Cup match in 1999, the LA Galaxy hold an all-time record of 35-18-1 in the competition and have been crowned champions twice (2001 and 2005). The U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 match between the LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders FC marks the 47th meeting across all competitions between the two teams, with the Galaxy trailing the all-time series 15-18-13. Against Seattle, the Galaxy hold a 10-13-13 record in league play, a 4-3-0 record in the MLS Cup Playoffs and a 1-2-0 record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. In the last U.S. Open Cup meeting between LA and Seattle, the Galaxy earned a 4-2 win over Sounders FC in the Quarterfinals of the tournament on July 20, 2016.

Sunday's match marks the 96th edition across all competitions of the Cali Clásico between the Galaxy and the Earthquakes, with LA leading the series 44-33-18. Against San Jose, the Galaxy hold a 35-28-16 record in league play, a 4-1-1 record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and a 5-4-1 record in the MLS Cup Playoffs. In 38 all-time regular-season matches played at home against the Earthquakes, the Galaxy hold a 22-10-6 record.
