LA Galaxy News Release
CARSON, Calif. (Monday, July 2, 2007) - The Los Angeles Galaxy will continue their extended home stay with two games against Eastern Conference opponents this week at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University - Dominguez Hills. The club will first face the Chicago Fire, built by The Home Depot, on Wednesday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m. The night will also be highlighted by the club's annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show, powered by KBIG 104.3.
Three days later the Galaxy faces off against the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m. in an East vs. West match up before heading on a road trip to Richmond, Va. to face the Richmond Kickers in the U.S. Open Cup. The club then immediately returns to Southern California to prepare for games in the World Series of Football and SuperLiga, and will not compete in another MLS regular season match until August 5, at Toronto FC.

PAVON READY TO PLAY: International striker Carlos Pavon will be available for selection on Wednesday, July 4 when the club faces the Chicago Fire after he received his P1 Visa on Friday. The Honduran international has been training with the club since he was signed by the Galaxy on June 20 and has now officially been added to the club's roster. The 33-year old striker comes to the club after helping Real Club Deportivo España claim the 2007 Honduran League Clausura title, scoring 15 goals in 20 appearances while captaining the club.

GALAXY SALUTES WOUNDED TROOPS ON JULY 4TH: With Independence Day right around the corner, the LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire are gearing up to pay special tribute to the men and women who've been severely injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are teaming up with the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes (CSAH) to raise awareness of the needs of the severely wounded troops. Wounded troops and their families will be honored in a pre-game tribute at the game on July 4, 2007 at 8:00 PM when LA Galaxy hosts Chicago Fire at The Home Depot Center.
BECKHAM SET FOR JULY 13 INTRODUCTION: David Beckham will be officially introduced as a Los Angeles Galaxy player during a presentation at The Home Depot Center on Friday, July 13. Along with David Beckham, taking part in the historical event will be AEG President and CEO Timothy Leiweke, MLS Commissioner Don Garber, Galaxy President and GM Alexi Lalas and head coach Frank Yallop. DONOVAN NOMINATED: On Monday it was announced that Donovan had been nominated for an ESPY Award for the Best MLS Player. Donovan, along with Jeff Cunningham, Christian Gomez and Matt Reis were nominated for the award which will be given out at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on July 11. ESPN will then air the ESPY Awards on Sunday, July 15 at 6 p.m. PT.
OPEN CUP OPPONENT SET: On Tuesday the Galaxy discovered their opponent in the Third
Round of the 2007 U.S. Open Cup, will be USL side Richmond Kickers. The Galaxy will
face off against the USL side in Richmond, Va. on Tuesday, July 10 at 4 p.m. at the
University of Richmond Stadium. Fans can follow all the action through a live web

WORLD SERIES OF FOOTBALL TICKETS NOW ON SALE: Tickets are also on sale for all four
games of the 2007 World Series of Football at The Home Depot Center. Fans can now

SUPERLIGA(tm) TICKETS ON SALE NOW: Tickets are now on sale for each of the Galaxy's home matches at this summer's inaugural SuperLiga(tm) tournament. SuperLiga(tm) is an eight-team tournament for North American supremacy featuring four teams from each the United States and Mexico. The Galaxy will open group play on Tuesday, July 24 when they host Pachuca at 8 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. LA then takes on CD Guadalajara on Saturday, July 28 at the L.A. Coliseum at 7 p.m. before closing out Group A on Tuesday, July 31 against FC Dallas as Pizza Hut Park. Tickets for the Galaxy's game against Pachuca are on sale now through the club at 877-3GALAXY while tickets for the game against Chivas are available only through Ticketmaster.
