
LA Galaxy Travel to Portland to Take on the Timbers

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, March 9, 2015) - The LA Galaxy will train at StubHub Center this week ahead of a road matchup at Providence Park against the Portland Timbers this Sunday, March 15 at 4 p.m. PT broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes.
The Galaxy are 5-3-3 all-time against the Timbers, scoring 19 goals in the 11 games played head to head. In five matches played at Providence Park, the Galaxy are 1-3-1 with seven goals scored. In their most recent matchup, the Galaxy defeated the Timbers at StubHub Center by a score of 3-1 as two goals from Robbie Keane and another from Gyasi Zardes gave LA three points.
The Galaxy played to a draw in their last matchup with Portland at Providence Park as each team scored a goal in stoppage time to earn a point.?The Galaxy will face Portland two more times this season, with both matches played at StubHub Center (Wednesday, June 24 and Sunday, Oct. 18).
Last week, the Galaxy opened the season in front of a sold-out StubHub Center with a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire behind second-half goals from Jose Villarreal and Robbie Keane and a shutout from goalkeeper Brian Rowe. The Galaxy are now 1-0-0 with 3 points. The goal was Villarreal's his fourth-career tally for the Galaxy and his first since July 20, 2013 against the Vancouver Whitecaps. It was the first game-winning goal of his career.
