LA Galaxy News Release
LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has signed goalkeeper Brady Scott to a one-year deal through the end of the 2024 MLS season, with two club option years through 2026.
Scott, 24, joins the LA Galaxy after having played in Germany with 1. FC Köln II (2017-20), in the United States with Columbus Crew 2 (2022-23) in MLS NEXT Pro and Memphis 901 FC (2021) and Sacramento Republic FC (2020) in the USL Championship. Most recently, Scott posted six shutouts in 15 appearances during the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season.
"We are pleased to add Brady to our LA Galaxy goalkeeping corps," said LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz. "Brady has excelled at the youth national team level with the United States and he'll provide valuable competition and depth at the goalkeeping position as he continues to develop."
The Petaluma, Calif., native signed his first professional contract in 2017 with Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln, where he logged five shutouts in 29 appearances with 1. FC Köln II in Regionalliga West play. After his time with FC Köln, Scott signed with Nashville SC in August of 2020. Shortly after, Scott was loaned to USL Championship side Sacramento Republic FC, where he made two appearances during the 2020 USL Championship Regular Season. During the 2020 MLS Expansion Draft, Scott was selected by Nashville SC and later loaned to USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC, logging one shutout in seven appearances during the 2021 USL Championship Regular Season.
After being selected by the Columbus Crew in the 2021 MLS Re-Entry Draft, Brady posted five shutouts in nine regular-season appearances for Columbus Crew 2 during the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season, helping Crew 2 win the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final.
At the youth international level, Scott made multiple appearances for the United States at various age groups. Notably, Scott was awarded the Golden Glove and was named to the tournament's Best XI during the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship, after making four shutouts for the United States and helping his country defeat Mexico 2-0 in the final of the competition.
