LOS ANGELES - Following a 3-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC in the Round of 32 of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Dignity Health Sports Park on May 10, the LA Galaxy return to league play to play host to the San Jose Earthquakes at Dignity Health Sports Park, in a match presented by Corazón Tequila, tonight, Sunday, May 14 (6:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, FS1, LA Galaxy Radio, LA Galaxy Spanish Radio).
Sunday's match marks the 96th edition across all competitions of the Cali Clásico between the Galaxy and the Earthquakes, with LA leading the series 44-33-18. Against San Jose, the Galaxy hold a 35-28-16 record in league play, a 4-1-1 record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and a 5-4-1 record in the MLS Cup Playoffs. In 38 all-time regular-season matches played at home against the Earthquakes, LA holds a 22-10-6 record. In the last meeting between the two teams, the LA Galaxy earned a 3-2 road victory over San Jose at Stanford Stadium on Sept. 24, 2022. Tonight's against the San Jose Earthquakes marks the third game in the span of nine days for the LA Galaxy. Additionally, tonight's match marks the third of five games in the next 15 for the Galaxy; an average of a game played every three days during that span. During the month of May, the Galaxy will have played eight games across all competitions in the span of 26 days, an average of a game played every 3.3 days.
