
LA Galaxy Academy Teams Host Nomads SC on Saturday

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, April 23, 2015) - The LA Galaxy Academy Under-18 and Under-16 teams will host their counterparts from Nomads SC at StubHub Center's Field 5 on Saturday, April 25 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action.
The Galaxy Academy U-18's (18-6-5 overall, 59 pts.) will kick off this weekend's action when they host Nomads SC U-18's (13-14-4 overall, 43 pts.) on Saturday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m. PT. In the last meeting between the clubs back in January, the Galaxy U-18's shutout Nomads SC 3-0 at Kinsell Field with a goal from Ryo Fujii and a brace from Mark Cruz.
The action continues at 12:30 p.m. PT, as the first place Galaxy Academy U-16's (19-3-7 overall, 64 pts.) host Nomads SC U-16's (3-19-9 overall, 18 pts.) at StubHub Center's Field 5. The last encounter between both U-16 sides finished with a 0-0 draw at Kinsell Field in January.

LA GALAXY HOMEGROWN PLAYERS SORTO AND VILLARREAL PLAY FOR U-23 MNT: LA Galaxy Homegrown players Oscar Sorto and Jose Villarreal both played in the U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team 3-0 win against archrival Mexico Wednesday night at StubHub Center. Sorto made the start for the U-23's, playing in his club's home stadium. It was also a homecoming for Villarreal, who entered in for Alejandro Guido in the game's 24th minute.
TOGO NAKMURA NAMED TO U-14 BNT CAMP: LA Galaxy Academy U-14 defender Togo Nakmura was named to the U.S. Under-14 Boys' National Team 36-player Camp by head coach Brian Johnson which is being held at StubHub Center in Carson, California, in the team's third camp of 2015. 25 players on the roster are currently registered with Development Academy Clubs. Additionally, all 36 players comprising this camp were born in 2001. The camp is running from April 18-26.
LOPEZ, ARTEAGA AND BAILEY CALLED INTO U.S. U-15 SQUAD FOR DELLE NAZIONI INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT: LA Galaxy II goalkeeper Eric Lopez and Galaxy Academy stalwarts Jake Arteaga and Zico Bailey were named to the U.S. National Team U-15 20-player roster for the Delle Nazioni International Tournament which is taking place in Italy and Slovenia from April 21 to May 2. Head coach John Hackworth's group was drawn into Group C, and will face off against the hosts Slovenia, CONCACAF rival Costa Rica and Croatia. Lopez, a Galaxy II goalkeeper who has spent time training with the first team, is the squad's lone professional player.
