La Crosse Falls to St. Cloud, 10-2.

The La Crosse Loggers were defeated easily by the St. Cloud Rox in Game-1 of a two-game series.

Starting for the Loggers was Brayden Sanders (Northwest Mississippi CC), who was unable to get out of the 1st inning. The Rox hung a 4 spot in the initial frame, batting around the order. Mickey Thompson (San Jose State) ate up ample innings in relief, working 4.1 innings while giving up 2 earned runs.

The Rox' offense produced 10 runs on just 5 hits. Their biggest innings came in the 1st and 7th respectively. Leading the way was Brice Matthews (Nebraska), who went 2-4 with a 2-run homer, his first long ball of the season. Also chipping in was Magnum Hoftstetter (Hawaii), who walked 3 times and scored twice.

Nathan Culley (Minnesota State-Mankato) toed the slab for St. Cloud, maintaining his perfect 3-0 record. The southpaw continued his excellent season by tossing 6.0 innings, allowing a run on 3 hits, a walk, and 9 strikeouts. Though 23.1 innings of work, Culley now has a minuscule ERA of 0.76.

Nick Hyde (Western Carolina) and Carson Keithley (Texas State) pitched the remaining 3.0 innings, striking out 6 collectively.

Despite staying even with the Rox in the hit column, the Lumberman were unable to produce nearly as many runs. Carson Hornung (South Carolina) extended his hit streak to 13 games by going 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Ace Whitehead (Texas) also went 1-3 and drove in a run in his Northwoods League debut.
