Growlers Win in Road Trip Opener at Kokomo

KOKOMO, IN - The Growlers picked up their 17th win of the season on a perfect night for baseball in central Indiana by a score of 9-6. The Growlers picked up 5 runs in the first two innings of the contest off of just one hit. Mason Meeks (Drury University) tossed 5 no-hit innings before finishing his outing after 6.2 IP, 2 ER, 4 K's and just 1 walk surrendered.

The Growlers sprinkled in 3 runs across the later innings, highlighted by the debut performance of Connor Charping (Western Michigan), who finished the night 2-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI, as well as two runners caught stealing defensively.

The KZoo boys take on Kokomo again tomorrow before heading up to Fond Du Lac for a two-game stand with the Dock Spiders.

The Growlers hold onto their two-game lead over the rest of the division chase pack with just seven games to play in the first half!
