Oshawa Generals News Release

Oshawa, ON- The Oshawa Generals announced today that captain, Kyle MacLean, has been returned to Oshawa for his over-age season.

Having ties with the New York Islanders organization, MacLean previously attended their rookie and main camp in 2018. In 2019, he attended their rookie camp again, where he left his mark earning himself an AHL contract with the club. He attended Islanders main camp this September before being sent to Bridgeport. Following numerous players on the Islanders' club clearing waivers and being sent to Bridgeport, the organization made the decision to return MacLean to the Generals for the 2019-20 season.

"I learned a lot and gained valuable experience during my time in New York and thank the Islanders for that experience. I'm excited to get back to Oshawa, be with the team and get my over-age year started," said MacLean on his return to Oshawa.

"Getting Kyle back is a tremendous boost to our organization. Anytime you can add a player of Kyle's character and ability back into your line up, it can only make you better," said Vice President and General Manager Roger Hunt on the return of the team's captain.

"He is the hardest working guy on and off the ice, he never quits, he plays for his teammates before himself and will put his individual success aside for a team win" said coach Greg Walters on MacLean's play. "He's a guy any team would want in their locker room."

MacLean will be back in Oshawa this weekend and will be a game time decision for the upcoming games.
