CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Charge of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, have added G Kyle Guy to the roster as a returning player and designated G Malik Newman with a season-ending injury, the team announced today.
Guy (6-1, 167, Virginia) played in 19 games for the Miami Heat since getting an NBA Call-Up from the Charge on December 29, averaging 3.9 points on .400 shooting with 0.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 9.8 minutes per game. As a Two-Way Player for Miami, he played in six games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce and averaged 15.7 points on .478 shooting with 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 29.3 minutes per game. Guy appeared in 11 games this season for the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers' exclusively owned and operated NBA G League affiliate, averaging 21.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.0 steal in 36.0 minutes per contest.
Newman (6-3, 190, Kansas) played in 34 games for the Charge this season (17 starts) and averaged 18.7 points on .434 shooting with 3.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 30.0 minutes per game. Newman had 17 games scoring 20+ points this season and earned an NBA Call-Up from the Cleveland Cavaliers on a 10-day contract on December 29.
