
Kurokawa Spins Another Gem in 5-1 Champions Win

OTTAWA - RHP Jordan Kurokawa turned in another sparkling outing as he tossed seven shutout innings, allowing seven hits, along with three walks and three strikeouts. He picked up his fifth win of the season and now ranks second league wide with a 1.94 ERA.
The game was scoreless until C Zak Colby drove in a run with an RBI single. Colby continues to hit well with the Champions as his batting average is now up to .309. OF Coco Johnson and INF Tyler Nordgren came around to score on a double by DH Sebastien Boucher.
RHP Daniel Carela came on in relief of Kurokawa as he walked three and struck out two before LHP Scott Maine secured the win as he collected his seventh save.
On the Jackals side, INF Seth Spivey celebrated his 26th birthday with a pair of hits and the only run of the game for New Jersey. INF Dean Green also doubled in the losing effort. RHP Dylan Brammer was sharp over six innings, allowing just one run while striking out three and walking five. He was saddled with the loss, and his record is now 6-3.
The Champions will look to take the series tomorrow as the first pitch flies at 6:05 on www.canamleague.tv.
