
Pungent Defense Costly in Loss to Ottawa

The New Jersey Jackals defense cost the game, committing six errors in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Ottawa Champions.
After five scoreless innings for both clubs, Ottawa's first baseman Zak Colby got the offense started with an RBI single in the sixth inning. Designated hitter Sebastian Boucher singled to score two runners as the Champions scored four runs in an error filled seventh inning for the Jackals on ndefense.
Jordan Kurakowa threw seven shutout innings, extending his scoreless inning streak to 16. Ottawa's bullpen gave up a late run in the ninth inning via an error by Jordan Caillouet with Jordan Hinshaw batting.
Game three will be a rubber match starting at 6:05 pm at Yogi Berra Stadium on Saturday July 7.
