
Korean Basketball Team Holds Training Camp and Scrimmage at Kaiser Permanente Arena

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Seoul Samsung Thunders of the Korean Basketball League have started a two-week training camp at the Kaiser Permanente Arena, which will culminate with a public exhibition game on Friday, September 13 against "The Cruz Presented by Krate," a team comprised of professional and former collegiate players. Krate, a Downtown Santa Cruz retailer, is providing their famous "The Cruz" logo for the scrimmage.
The Seoul Samsung Thunders was established in February 1978. The Thunders (formerly known as Samsung Basketball Team) won 25 championships while boasting a 67% win percentage before the launch of the Korean Basketball League (KBL) in 1997. Since then, the Seoul Samsung Thunders won two league championships during the 2000-01 and 2005-06 seasons.
Members of the public are invited to watch one of the premier Korean Basketball League teams showcase their talent on Friday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente Arena. Throughout the Seoul Samsung Thunders' two-week training camp, the Kaiser Permanente Arena will be the official basketball facility and Precision Wellness will be the official strength and conditioning facility.
