
Komets open three-game string tonight at Flint

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets will skate three games in three nights for the first time this season when they visit Flint for a 7pm faceoff tonight. There are eight three-game strings for the Komets during the 2008-09 campaign.
After the Komets face the Generals tonight, they will return home to host Muskegon Friday night at 8:00. It will be the first of eight Muskegon visits this season. The Lumberjacks are currently tied with the Komets for first place in the IHL with an identical 8-6-2-0 record. Saturday the Komets travel to Kalamazoo for a 7:30pm faceoff at Wings Stadium to complete the three-game week.
Tonight's game at Flint will be aired on Fort Wayne radio WKJG/ESPN AM 1380. Friday and Saturday's game will be broadcast on WOWO AM 1190 with Bob Chase radio-rinkside. All Komet games broadcast can also be heard free on the internet at www.komets.com Comcast KometCast.
Tickets for all 2008-09 Komet home games are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Roster moves......the Komets announced today that defenseman Jason Beckett has opted to play in Europe and has been removed from the roster. Beckett appeared in the first eight games of the season scoring two assists and 15 penalty minutes.
Defenseman Jake Pence has been activated to the Komet roster after missing the start of the season due to injury. Pence, 24, is expected to be in the lineup tonight at Flint and will be starting his second season with the Komets after appearing in all 76 regular season games last year.
The Komets also announced today that forward Sean O'Connor has been aded to the roster. O'Connor, 21, skated one game this season in the ECHL with Augusta after completing five seasons in the OHL in stints with Erie, Plymouth and London.
