Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Tommy Hawk, the mascot of the Chicago Blackhawks , will be on hand to entertain fans at the Bloomington PrairieThunder game Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The PrairieThunder takes on Muskegon at 7:05 p.m. in an International Hockey League game. It's also Guns n Hoses Day at U.S. Cellular Coliseum where members of the Bloomington police department take on members of the Bloomington fire department in a hockey game, beginning at 3:15 p.m.
Patrons must have a ticket to the PrairieThunder game to gain admission to the Guns n Hoses contest. The PrairieThunder will wear specially designed jerseys, depicting the Guns n Hoses theme, in its game against the Lumberjacks.
Those jerseys will be auctioned off following the game with a portion of the proceeds going to Special Olympics Illinois.
The PrairieThunder also is partnering with Extreme Motors to hold its annual canned food drive. Fans donating a canned food item will receive a voucher for a free ticket to a future PrairieThunder game. Fans will receive one voucher per person, not per donated item.
