Komets Finalize Opening Day Roster, Two Waived

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets announced Thursday that 2 players have been waived, trimming the season opening roster to 21 players.

Placed on waivers were defenseman Jason Jaworski and winger Michael George. The Komet's opening day roster includes 2 goaltenders, 12 forwards and 7 defensemen. Brandon Warner and Jake Pence, each originally playing at a forward position, have been moved to defense.

The Komets will open their 56th season of play in Fort Wayne this Saturday night at 7:30 against the Port Huron IceHawks at the War Memorial Coliseum. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the pre-game festivities that get underway at 7:30pm sharp. Good seats are still available for opening night.

Komet Hockey on the air.....most Komet games will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 this year with Bob Chase at the Fort Wayne microphone for his 55th consecutive season. Some games will be aired on WKJG/ESPN Radio AM 1380 as an alternative when conflicts occur. All games aired on radio will also be available FREE on the internet at Comcast KometCast at www.komets.com .
