Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets 26th annual End-of-Season Party and Charity Jersey Auction is set for this Thursday at the Memorial Coliseum in the new Conference Center. Doors open at 6:30pm and the auction begins at 7pm. Admission is $5.00. However, Komet season ticket holders and kids under 12 will be admitted free.

Last year the charity jersey auction raised $18,275 and goaltender Roman Will's sweater was taken with the highest bid at $2,000. The Komets have held end-of-season jersey auctions each year since the beginning of the Franke Family ownership in 1990.

The Komets were the ECHL's 2015-16 Midwest Division champions after sporting a 40-23-7-2 record and 89 points in 72 regular season games.

In the playoffs, the Komets bounced the Cincinnati Cyclones in the first best-of-seven series 4-3. In the second round, the Komets swept the Utah Grizzlies 4-0 and advanced to the Western Conference finals.

The Komets were eliminated from post-season play last Sunday after suffering a 6-4 loss at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. The Americans took the series 4-1 and will advance to the Kelly Cup Finals against the winner of the South Carolina-Wheeling series.

The Komets will cap the 2015-16 campaign with the party and auction Thursday. It will be the first event for the Komets in the new Memorial Coliseum Conference Center. Fans are encouraged to please use the Conference Center entrance at the south end of the complex.

The 2016-17 season is set to begin Friday, Oct. 14 when the Komets open at Quad City. The Komets will return to Fort Wayne to host the 65th season opener Saturday, Oct. 15 against the Mallards.
