The winner of the Eastern Conference Finals will play the Allen Americans in the 2016 Kelly Cup Finals. The Americans advanced to the Finals with a 4-1 series win over the Fort Wayne Komets. His goal in triple-overtime last season helped the Stingrays beat Toledo in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals and advance the club to the 2015 Kelly Cup Finals. The Nailers scored a Game 7 victory last round on a Riley Brace goal in overtime at WesBanco Arena. All-time, the Nailers are 2-2 in Game 7's while the Stingrays are 3-2.
