Komets Announce Roster Moves, Henley will be back

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets announced Tuesday that defenseman Brent Henley will be back in the Komet fold. Henley, 27, has been forced to delay his start this season due to a knee injury. The 6-foot, 7-inch veteran blueliner will begin practicing with the Komets Nov. 12 and may be able to dress for action as early as Nov. 22. "The return of Brent Henley to the Komets adds a significant physical presence to the team," Komet's general manager David Franke said. "Brent is also a very capable defenseman who will add strong defensive play to an already strong Komet defensive core."

Henley started last season with Pensacola ECHL appearing in 16 games (1g, 5a, 94pim) before signing with the Komets Dec. 22, 2006. The British Columbia native skated 36 games with the Komets last year posting 3 assists and 174 penalty minutes. 2007-08 will be his 7th pro season.

The Komets also announced that goaltender Adam Hanna has been waived. Hanna participated in the Komet's training camp and appeared in two preseason games (2gp, 64:39, 1-0-0-0, 3 ga, 2.78 gaa, 24/27, .889 spct.).

The Komets have been joined in daily practices by goaltender Nick Boucher. Boucher, 26, is a 5th year pro after completing stints in the AHL, ECHL, UHL and Europe over the past 4 years.

Muskegon Fury visits Saturday.....this weekend the Komets will skate 3 games in 3 nights starting Friday at Port Huron at 7:30pm. Saturday the Komets return home to host the Muskegon Fury at 7:30pm. Sunday the Komets travel to Kalamazoo for a 4pm matinee. All Komet games this weekend will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and online at Komets.com at Comcast KometCast.
