Komets Acquire Defenseman Cole Martin

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets announced Monday that they have acquired defenseman Cole Martin from the Norfolk Admirals to complete a trade made during 2015-16 that sent forward Dean Ouellet to the Admirals.

Martin, 22, spent four years of juniors with Kelowna, winning the WHL championship in 2015. Last year the Arlington, Texas native made his pro debut appearing in ECHL stints with Idaho, Atlanta and Norfolk. Martin amassed three goals and 13 points while accumulating 34 penalty minutes in 57 ECHL games.

The Komets also announced that forward Brett Perlini has been dealt to Rapid City to complete a trade made with the Rush on March 9, 2016 for forward Daniel Barczuk.

Perlini skated his second season with the Komets last year scoring 15 goals and 34 points in 52 regular season games and added three goals and nine points in 13 playoff games. Barczuk posted 12 goals and 18 points in 54 games with Rapid City last season before scoring one goal and two points in nine appearances with Fort Wayne.
