Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced the team has acquired the rights to scoring threat Kellen Jones from the Missouri Mavericks to complete the trade for Darian Dziurzynski from Mar. 3.

"Kellen is a highly productive, high character forward who has good hands and quick feet," Head Coach Brian Gratz said. "He's played nearly 90 games in the American Hockey League and we are excited to acquire his rights."

Jones, 25, collected more than a point-per-game with the Mavericks last season, helping Missouri to the ECHL's best regular-season record (52-15-5) and the 2016 Brabham Cup title. He notched 25 points (6g, 19a) and a +9 rating in 23 regular-season games and also made 33 appearances in the AHL with Bakersfield and Utica.

A third-year pro, Jones produced 15 points (5g, 10a) and 10 penalty minutes with the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons during the 2014-15 campaign and added 25 points (7g, 18a) in 27 contests with ECHL Bakersfield. The Montrose, British Columbia native began his career with Oklahoma City in 2013-14 following a four-year career at the prestigious Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.

In 157 games at Quinnipiac, Jones recorded 127 points (53g, 74a) and 123 penalty minutes. He played all four years alongside his twin brother, Connor, who spent last season with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Kellen, a 5'10, 185-pound forward, was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the seventh round (#202 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
