The Owen Sound Attack has announced that Captain David Kolomatis has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.

Kolomatis, 20, made his professional debut with the Providence Bruins on April 4, 2009 and played in four scoreless regular season games and 16 playoff games. He picked up his lone point, an assist, during the 2009 Calder Cup playoffs against the Portland Pirates on April 24, 2009. The 5-foot-11, 189-pound native of Livingston, New Jersey played three seasons with the Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack, collecting 111 points (31-80=111) and 174 penalty minutes in 198 games from 2006-09. Kolomatis was selected by the Kings in the fifth-round (126th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

A professional tryout agreement consists of a 25 game span where at the conclusion, Kolomatis' future with the Manchester Monarchs will be re-evaluated and a decision to either stay with the club or be re-assigned to the Owen Sound Attack will be made.
