Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release

Pensacola, Fla. - Pensacola Ice Flyers and Knoxville Ice Bears faced each other for the first time this season as they met up at the Pensacola Bay Center after both teams won on the road the previous night. The Knoxville Ice Bears came away with the win by a score of 4-1.

The Ice Flyers had a total of 47 shots on goal compared to the Ice Bears' 17 shots on goal. The first period, Pensacola outshot Knoxville 15-12. After that, they outshot the Ice Bears 32-5, but could not manage to score.

The scoring in the first period started with the Ice Bears Berkley Scott as he got the puck to the back of the net to give his team the early lead. Tyler Fernandez completed a nice 2-on-1 rush with a feed from Eric Satim to put Knoxville up by two.

Halfway through the second frame, Scott scored his second of the game, with an assist by Emery Olauson, putting his team ahead 3-0.

Olauson scored for Knoxville in the final minutes of the game to make it 4-0. Ice Bears' goalie Connor Toomey would be denied the shutout as Ice Flyer Patrick Knowlton scored with less than a minute to go on the clock.

This completes Knoxville's weekend as they head to play Louisiana next Friday and Saturday. Pensacola play on the road against the Mississippi RiverKings on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7:05 p.m.

They return home the next night to play the Huntsville Havoc at 7:05 p.m. on Tom Thumb Ice at the Pensacola Bay Center. It is Pearl Harbor Night and all military veterans and their families will receive 50% off center ice tickets, just $10. The Ice Flyers organization also wants fans to come dressed in 1940's style clothing for their chance to win prizes. Fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy as well to donate to the children of the Gulf Coast Kids House this Christmas.
