September 3, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Orlando City SC News Release

The games keep coming. The Lions return home to face Atlanta United on Saturday at 8:00 pm ET on FOX. Here is what you need to know about our opponents:

Key Transactions and Player News

The big news out of Atlanta is that DP Pity Martinez who faced City on Saturday will be sold to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. The deal is not official yet, but the sale has been agreed in principle according to club President Darren Eales on a pregame periscope live stream on Wednesday. Pity Martinez did not feature in the lineup or bench so don't expect to see him on Saturday.

As we saw on Saturday, Atlanta United isn't the team we're used to. Darlington Nagbe, Justin Meram, Florentin Pogba, Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, Julian Gressel and Hector Villalba all left the club in the offseason.

Meanwhile Atlanta United added Brooks Lennon, Matheus Rossetto, Edgar Castillo, Jurgen Damm and Erick "Cubo" Torres to the mix.

The injury report: Josef Martinez is a notable loss as he is still recovering from his ACL injury suffered in the 2020 opener. Additionally, Fernando Meza is out with an undisclosed injury.

Team Form

Atlanta is 1-1-1 in their first three games since returning from the MLS is Back Tournament and have only scored three goals across that span. Overall, they are 1-4-1 since returning to play from the long break due to COVID-19.

Head-to-Head

The Lions are 1-2-0 against Atlanta United in their last three matches.

Rasmussen College Fact

The Lions have gained seven points of the last possible nine in an eight-day span.
