Los Angeles FC News Release

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) snapped a two-game losing streak to down their California rival, the San Jose Earthquakes, Wednesday night at Banc of California Stadium.

LAFC came out firing in the first half, with Diego Rossi adding his MLS leading eighth goal of the season in the 21st minute when Jośe Cifuentes deflected a pass right to Mark-Anthony Kaye who delivered the ball to Rossi on a platter. LAFC's barrage continued with Bradley Wright-Phillips getting behind two San Jose defenders in the 49th minute for his 112th career MLS goal.

LAFC continued to control the match, with Rossi adding another goal and then both Jośe Cifuentes and Danny Musovski scoring their first MLS goals in the 64th and 83rd minute respectively. San Jose spoiled what would have been the LAFC's second shutout of the season, with Danny Hoesen adding a goal in stoppage time.

With the win, LAFC now sits in 3rd place in the Western Conference with a 3-2-3 record (12 points). Next up for the Black & Gold, crosstown rival Galaxy on Sunday, September 6 at 7:30 p.m. PT at Dignity Health Sports Park (YouTube TV, TUDN, Unimás, ESPN LA 710, ESPN App, 980 AM).
