London Knights General Manager Basil McRae announced today that the team has traded overage goaltender Michael Giugovaz to the Windsor Spitfires. In exchange, the Knights receive a conditional 7th round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection from the Spitfires. Should Giugovaz appear in 35 games for the Spitfires this season, Windsor's 7th round pick in 2017 is changed to Windsor's 6th round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.
Drafted in the 10th round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection by the Peterborough Petes, Giugovaz is entering his 4th season in the OHL. He joined the Knights last season in a trade with the Belleville Bulls and appeared in 47 games for the Knights last season with 25 victories and 12 losses.
