Ian McKinnon Reassigned to Whitby

(Peterborough, ON)- Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced this morning that Ian McKinnon has been reassigned to the Jr. A Whitby Fury.

McKinnon, a 6'1", 172lbs left winger from Whitby was selected in the 9th round, 169th overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection. He had a strong training camp and pre-season with the Petes, suiting up in four exhibition games and scoring two goals and an assist. In 2015, McKinnon had 31 points in 72 games with the Midget AAA Ajax-Pickering Raiders.

Oke noted that "we are happy with Ian's development and his commitment to improving different areas of his game. He'll get a chance to continue this growth close by in Whitby, where we will continue to monitor his development. We expect Ian to practice regularly and be ready to step in as opportunities present themselves over the course of the season."

The Peterborough Petes 60th season home opener is this Thursday, September 24 against the Ottawa 67's.
