Knights take out Otters

Kale Kerbashian scored a goal and an assist to lead the London Knights to a 5-2 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,713 at the Tullio Arena. Colin Martin, Kevin Montgomery, Justin Taylor and Vladimir Roth also scored for the Knights, who won for the eighth straight time to move to 19-5-0-1 on the season. Sean Jones and Andrew Yogan scored for the Otters. Erie dropped to 11-12-1-0 in their second straight loss. London led 3-1 after one. Erie made it a 3-2 game midway through the second only to see the Knights respond 22 seconds later to restore their two-goal lead. The Knights carried a 5-2 advantage into the third. Shots in the game were even at 28. Jaroslav Janus started for the Otters and allowed three goals on the nine shots in the opening 15 minutes and was replaced by Shane Owen. Owen surrendered two goals on 19 shots the rest of the way. The three stars of the game were all from the Knights. Kerbashian was the first, Jared Knights (two assists) the second and Montgomery the third.

The Otters return to action with the annual Thanksgiving Game on Thursday when the Belleville Bulls visit in a 7 p.m. start. The first 1,000 fans into the game will receive an Otters Water Bottle courtesy of Sprickman Heating and Cooling.
