
Knights Pull Ahead Late to Get the Win

FORT MILL, S.C. - The Charlotte Knights were able to win their second straight game as they defeated the Rochester Red Wings 7-6 at Knights Stadium. The Knights are now 6-0 vs. Rochester this season.
The Knights got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run from Luis Rodriguez, but it was a back and forth game all day long that had six lead changes.
Rochester moved ahead in the 6th inning with a home run from Brendan Peterson that just cleared the short wall in right field. His homer game the Red Wings a 5-4 lead, but the it wouldn't last long. The Knights pulled ahead for good in the 7th inning scoring three runs. The big hit in the inning came from Stefan Gartrell who had a 2-RBI single with the bases loaded. Buck Coats followed with a sacrifice fly to score Mark Teahen.
Teahen, on a major league rehab assignment from the Chicago White Sox, went 1-2 in the game with a run and two walks. In the two games of his rehab assignment he has gone 4-6 with two runs and two RBI.
The Knights and Red Wings continue their series tomorrow at 7:15 PM. RHP Brandon Hynick (1-1, 7.43 ERA) will pitch for the Knights, the Red Wings will start RHP Nick Blackburn (NR, -.-- ERA).
