Knights Pitcher Lucas Harrell Recalled by White Sox

FORT MILL, S.C. - Charlotte Knights RHP Lucas Harrell has been recalled to the Chicago White Sox. Harrell will be the starting pitcher for the White Sox tonight against the Oakland Athletics.

Harrell, 25, is 9-9 with a 4.24 ERA (56 ER/119.0 IP) and 73 strikeouts in 22 starts with Charlotte this season. The 6-foot-2, 200 pounder has allowed a .256 (114-445) opponents average with 53 walks.

Harrell is 42-37 with a 3.79 ERA (258 ER/613.1 IP) and 404 strikeouts in 121 games (115 starts) over seven seasons in the White Sox minor-league system. His best season came in 2009 when he went 12-4 with a 3.27 ERA (53 ER/146.0 IP) in 25 starts between Class AA Birmingham and Charlotte.

Harrell takes the spot of former Knights RHP Daniel Hudson who was the White Sox scheduled starting pitcher for tonight's game. Hudson was traded earlier this afternoon to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for RHP Edwin Jackson.
