June 4, 2021 - Eastern League (EL)
Chesapeake Baysox News Release

The Bowie Baysox won their eighth game in a row on Friday night, behind a six-run fourth inning, and Blaine Knight earned the win in his first Double-A start as Bowie beat the Hartford Yard Goats, 6-2. Bowie now owns a .808 winning percentage, the best among all minor league teams.

Adley Rutschman, Patrick Dorrian, J.C. Escarra, and Chris Hudgins all tallied consecutive singles in the fourth inning, and all four of them came around to score. Bowie sent 10 men to the plate and finished the inning having plated six runs.

Hartford scored their two runs in the fifth inning, but Knight stayed in the game. This was the first time this season that Bowie's starting pitcher had recorded an out in the sixth inning. He completed six innings, allowed seven hits, allowed two runs (both earned), one walk, and six strikeouts. Tyler Joyner and Diogenes Almengo came on in relief and did not allow a run.

The Baysox will now send D.L. Hall to the mound on Saturday night as Bowie looks for their ninth win in a row. He has a 2-0 record with a 2.14 ERA.

Bowie returns home to Prince George's Stadium on June 15th to take on the Akron RubberDucks. Order online [Order Here] or call 301-464-4865 to purchase your tickets. The 2021 season is presented by Money One Federal Credit Union.
