Quad City Steamwheelers News Release

For the first time ever, the Quad City Steamwheelers will face the Vegas Knight Hawks. Following an impressive 46-36 win over the Bismarck Bucks at home, the Wheelers are above .500 and right back into the thick of the 2022 IFL Playoff hunt.

Against Bismarck, quarterback E.J. Hilliard Jr. put up his 9th consecutive multi-touchdown game and 4th 6-touchdown performance of the 2022 season. His 123 yards through the air and 64 yards on the ground provided Quad City with balance. Wide receiver Mike Carrigan hauled in 2 touchdown receptions.

On the defensive side of the ball, rookie linebacker Nate Sheets produced 11 total tackles. Defensive backs Kendell Jefferson and (newly-signed) Antwan Smith picked off Bucks quarterback Giovanni Sanders.

Against the Knight Hawks, the Wheelers defense will face another quarterback for the first time, Cameron Dukes. Over the last two weeks, Dukes has thrown 8 touchdown passes to only 1 interception and, like Hilliard, has been a formidable threat on the ground as well.

As Quad City makes their push to make the postseason, will their momentum remain hot or will their squad run out of steam? Tune in Friday, June 24th at 9:05 PM CT to find out.
