Northern Arizona Wranglers News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - After the bye week, the Northern Arizona Wranglers return home to battle the Duke City Gladiators at Pinnacle Bank Field at the Findlay Toyota Center.
On Saturday evening, the Wranglers and Gladiators will meet for the first time this season. This weekend's showdown is sponsored by Prescott Frontier Days - World's Oldest Rodeo. This is a potential preview for the Wranglers first playoff game, approaching in about one month. If the season ended today, the Wranglers would hold the first seed in the Western Conference, and the Gladiators would be the final team to enter the Indoor Football League playoffs. In that scenario, Duke City would return to Prescott Valley, Ariz., to take on the Wranglers in the opening round. This is of course subject to change, based on various team performances, within the next four weeks of the regular season.
The Wranglers enter this matchup coming off a bye week, and riding a seven-game winning streak. The Wranglers currently sit atop the Western Conference with a 10-2 record on the season. The Gladiators travel to Arizona for the second consecutive game, losing last week to the Arizona Rattlers by a score of 58-38. Duke City holds a 6-7 record on the season, and have lost two straight games against some of the league's top competition.
The Wranglers possess the IFL's number one ranked passing defense, while the Gladiators have the IFL's top ranked passing offense. This battle seemingly will come down to the Wranglers defense, and stopping Duke City's air attack. The top ranked defense in the league will be aiming for another dominant performance, and will be ready to rise to the challenge.
Will the Wranglers earn the victory, remain undefeated at home, and keep their top spot in the Western Conference? Come out to Pinnacle Bank Field at the Findlay Toyota Center, in Prescott Valley, Ariz., to find out! Details for tickets are below our home schedule at the bottom of the article.
