Knicks Take Down Conference-Leading Lakeland

WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks (25-17), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, made easy work of conference-leading Lakeland Magic (25-15), 112-92, Sunday afternoon at Westchester County Center.

The frontcourt tandem of Two-Way player Isaiah Hicks and Jameel Warney combined for 40 points, each crediting 20 apiece. Before an early exit, Zak Irvin grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds and added six points. He would later be diagnosed with a lower back injury.

Two-Way player Kadeem Allen dished a game-high eight helpers while also putting in 14 points and hauling five boards.

For the visitors, Troy Caupain and BJ Johnson each ended with 16 points on seven made field goals. Caupain also registered team-highs of six dimes and nine rebounds.

The Knicks were up by 11 by the intermission before taking a commanding 29-point lead in the second-half. The second-half's control came in large part to Westchester knocking down seven triples contrasting Magic's two. The Knicks shot 46.7-percent from long-range while Lakeland converted just 15.4-percent of its tries from deep.

The Knicks get a few days off before returning to the hardwood Thursday, February 28 at the Greensboro Swarm. Tipoff is slated for 11:00 AM (ET).
