BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell 110-100 by the Maine Celtics Monday night at Webster Bank Arena.
The contest started slow for both clubs but after settling into the action, the Knicks (2-6) opened up a 12-point lead with 3:42 left in the first quarter doubling as their largest lead of the game. The Celtics (7-1) sliced that deficit to four by the end of the first quarter. Both teams remained in striking distance through the second quarter with Maine crediting a four-point lead at the break.
Maine teased double-digit advantages throughout the third and fourth quarters and despite the Knicks closing in on the gap by as little as eight with just over seven minutes to go, the hosts would fail to get within more ultimately falling by ten.
Luka Samanic (Two-Way) finished with 29 points, nine rebounds and shot 50-percent from three-point territory. On assignment via New York, Miles McBride contributed 28 points, a team-high five assists, six rebounds, and three steals on the night. Tyler Hall (returning rights) chipped in with 25 points on 63.6-percent, 60-percent from three, to go along with four rebounds, three assists and a perfect 5-for-5 showing at the stripe.
Maine boasted five double-digit scorers in Jaysean Paige (22 PTS), Theo Pinson (20 PTS), Brodric Thomas (19 PTS), Cullen Russo (12 PTS) and Sam Hauser (11 PTS).
The Knicks will get a few days off before welcoming the College Park Skyhawks to Webster Bank Arena on Thursday, December 2 at 7 PM ET.
